government launched several initiatives supporting new government policy under "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas" slogan that aims at shaping and developing India’s human resources and helping our country to take advantage of demographic profile.
What India needs for becoming a land of young, aspiring and skilled workforce is deep structural reforms in education and healthcare to ensure the young population is healthy enough for learning and educated enough for aiming at acquiring skills and professions. India needs larger and faster social changes to ensure inclusion of larger numbers of youth, irrespective of caste, religion or social background, in India’s growth story. There is also a need of better balance between government and corporate responsibilities to ensue reasonable and effective employment generation, quality of pay and better social protection of workforce at all levels. Therefore, “Skilling India” project should only be considered as a part of the larger mission of shaping greater future for India’s young and talented population.
